Welcome to the World Foundrymen Organization
The World Foundrymen Organization represents the collective needs and beliefs of the principal representatives of foundry associations of member countries on a global scale. The WFO is a neutral body representing the interests of the Cast Metals industries in a broad range of countries.
The WFO records their great thanks to the following supporting advertisors.
| Executive and Secretariat | World Foundry Congress | International Commissions |
What is the WFO?

Originally established to co-ordinate the organisation of a regular International Foundry Congress, the WFO has since developed into a body involved with numerous activities to satisfy the requirement for the global exchange of information dissemination and international co-operation between Member Associations.

The WFO facilitates the technical co-operation between different nations, internationally united in the same aim - to promote and co-ordinate the activities of the cast metals and associated industries within their own individual countries and overseas.

The objectives of the WFO are as follows:
  • Promotion of the technology of the cast metals (foundry) industry
  • Improving the image and understanding of the cast metals industry via the global exchange of knowledge
  • Providing focus to all aspects of cast metals engineering
  • Promoting international co-operation between Member Associations and other organisations
  • Encouraging education and training in the cast metals industry
  • Promoting the technical application of research and development of cast components
Benefits

At present there are some 33 Member Associations, from as many countries, in membership of the WFO. In itself this generates a vast amount of dialogue and the ability to take advantage of the on-going transfer of information. However this is only one of a number of advantages in joining the WFO:
  • Numerous networking and friendship-building opportunities
  • Advice and guidance on specific issues
  • Transfer and exchange of data opportunities
  • Ability to influence global decisions about the future of the cast metals industry, research undertaken and information dissemination
  • Reduced price attendance at World Foundry Congresses and Technical Forums
  • Opportunity of organising the World Foundry Congress and/or the Technical Forum, thus the chance of profiting from the funds raised at these events, along with the national interest and pride generated for the host country
Strength in numbers

Members of the WFO are considered as representative of the global cast metals industry and are able to have a collective influence on international co-operation in the industry. Working together Member Associations are able to benefit from the knowledge and experience of fellow foundrymen and women. Recent congresses held in Hungary, France and North America have attracted several hundred delegates from around the world.
